What We Take
Nearly everything people ask about goes on the trailer. If you're wondering about something specific, send a photo and we'll tell you straight away.
Goes on the trailer
- Furniture of any size, including sofas, mattresses and bed frames
- Appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, washers and water heaters
- General household clutter, boxes and bags
- Garage, attic, basement and shed contents
- Renovation debris: drywall, lumber, flooring, cabinets, fixtures
- Roofing tear-off and shingles
- Brick, block and concrete
- Hot tubs, play sets and exercise equipment
- Brush, limbs and storm debris
- Fencing, decking, sheds and other small structures
- Office and retail fixtures, shelving and cubicles
- Scrap metal
- Tires, whether it's four behind the shed or a stack behind the shop
- TVs, monitors and the rest of the electronics pile nobody knows what to do with
The short list of what we can't
Almost everything else goes. There are two exceptions, and in both cases there's somewhere better to send it.
Anything hazardous
Wet paint, solvents, pool and lawn chemicals, motor oil, fuel, propane tanks, asbestos, medical waste and ammunition all need a household hazardous waste facility. It isn't a preference on our part; hauling them without the right certification isn't legal. Your county runs collection for this, so it's worth asking them what they take and when.
Cars and anything titled
Cars, trucks, boats, campers and anything else with a title goes through a scrapyard or a salvage buyer, who will usually collect it and may pay you for it. Worth a call to one of them before you treat it as a disposal problem.
Old fridges and freezers
Worth calling out because it catches people. Anything holding refrigerant, so refrigerators, freezers and window air conditioning units, has to have that refrigerant recovered by somebody certified before it can be thrown out. It's the reason curbside collection won't take it and the reason it's still sitting in your garage.
Which is how an old chest freezer, the most ordinary object in the place, turns into the hardest thing in it to get rid of. We take them.
